The Boat Trailer is a simple project, inspired by the wooden boat trailers of the '50's. We found our home-built version to be great trailer for our lightweight boats. The only drawback we found was that the trailer floats! This can be tricky when backing down a launch ramp to retrieve a boat...Happily, some old-timers had the solution from their own experiences from the '50's: bolting on a bit of weight at the rear does the trick!
Keep in mind that these plans are 30-odd years old and are not DOT-Approved. These plans are offered as a study guide and an insight in to how we created our own project. They are a starting point for developing your own design, essentially. Our usual detailed building guide and drawings documenting how we built our project are included, as in all our plans.
